Jailbirds, Carnivals, and Guest Posts – a Monday Miscellany

January 12, 2009

Last week’s guest post by Roger was a resounding success. We were both a little unsure about how this would work out, but it was very well received and was featured in this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance hosted by The Writer’s Coin. The reaction was so positive, in fact, that it looks like he might be starting up a personal finance blog of his own. I feel like the Mr. Miyagi to his Karate Kid. I’m going to be sharing my infinite wisdom and blogging prowess (note the sarcasm) to help get him off the ground, and then hope that he links back to me when he gets a book deal and reality show. My deepest thanks to Roger for putting himself out there, and a big thanks to everyone who left comments and emailed regarding this piece.

I’m currently in the process of transitioning to a new job, so things are pretty hectic in the MGL world. There will be a post up pretty soon about this move, as well as the ongoing debate over whether I am certifiably insane or just informally nuts. If I’m a little slow responding to emails, comments and twitters this week, that’s why. And on that note, if you’re not already doing so, you should follow me on Twitter.

Finally, wifey and I are heading to Vancouver and Whistler for a vacation in mid-February. While I’ve got a few posts in the can for this time, I thought it might also be a good time to open MoneyGrubbingLawyer up for a handful of guest posts. I’m open to topics on just about any subject- if you think that readers would enjoy it, I’m open to considering it. If you’d like to contribute, send me an email at mgl [at] moneygrubbinglawyer dot com.
